SKYBORNE COUTURE

The Skyborne Couture Collection is a couture trilogy inspired by the beauty and symbolism of winged creatures that soar through nature and spirit. Rooted in my love of birds and butterflies, this collection translates the essence of flight—grace, resilience, and transformation—into fashion. Each board focuses on a creature that has shaped my creative journey: the mourning dove, the peacock, and the butterfly. Collectively, they embody serenity, majesty, and ethereal freedom.

The mourning dove, my personal favorite bird, anchors the collection with its gentle coos and understated beauty. Its soft palette of taupe, ivory, beige, and muted grays becomes a foundation for gowns and tailored suits that emphasize quiet elegance. Feathered appliqués, layered drapery, and textured fabrics such as silk satin, velvet, and chiffon create designs that flow with calm resilience. This chapter is about serenity and strength—the subtle yet enduring presence of the dove.

The peacock introduces opulence and spectacle. Known for its dazzling plumage, the bird symbolizes pride, allure, and defense through beauty. The palette bursts with emerald greens, sapphire blues, teals, and gold. Gowns and suits are adorned with feather motifs, embroidery, sequins, and appliqué that mimic the “eyes” of peacock feathers. Structured silhouettes and flowing trains emphasize grandeur, making this chapter a celebration of confidence and majesty.

The butterfly closes the trilogy with lightness and transformation. Seen as my spiritual animal, the butterfly represents freedom, rebirth, and delicate beauty. The palette blends deep blues, fiery oranges, rich blacks, and iridescent highlights. Fabrics like organza, chiffon, and tulle create ethereal motion, while embroidery and cutwork replicate wing patterns. From flowing gowns with wing-like overlays to tailored suits with butterfly-inspired details, this chapter embodies elegance, fragility, and power.
